The "New Millennium Rasta" has quickly become one of the most talked about upcoming artistes in the reggae world as well as circles that span the globe and cross various sectors of the music industry. King Mas has been hard at work on his debut album as well as a slew of new singles with various reputable producers who are searching for emerging stars.
"It hasn't been an easy road" says the 23 year old singer/songwriter, as a slight grin creeps across his face. "Many people have come into my situation that are no longer a part of it, many have had negative and disparaging comments about various moves I have made. A young lion who cannot be tamed is not always liked, but to be the master of one's own destiny, and to earn respect, rather than approval, and to stand up for what you believe in should be a goal in and of itself. Not only as it relates to music, but as a general rule."
"Music to entertain and uplift same time, dat ah di mission" says Mas. "It's 2011, a new decade in a New Millennium. To reach the youths of today and solve the problems of our nation requires using methods and forms that the youths can relate to while also teaching and instilling positive values, attitudes, and ideas that serve as psychological armor in this Gideon. My Afrikan nation need not become complacent or complicit in Babylon's slow but steady destruction of our people. This is a war of the mind."
Look out for more fyah from the young R.A.S. as he continues to blaze fire pon Babylon while entertaining the masses and being a voice for the new millennium generation.
